Privacy Notice

Mindful Psychotherapy Services Ltd (Licence No. C&P/P/0609/1085), run by Mel Mbithe Kioko, is responsible for the personal information you share through this website. This notice explains what is collected, why, and your rights under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.

What I collect

When you fill in a form on this site, I receive the details you enter: your name, email address, and, if you choose to share them, your phone number, organization, and message. A message about therapy may include information about your health or personal circumstances, which the law treats as sensitive personal data.

Why I collect it

I use your information only to respond to your enquiry: to arrange a discovery call, prepare a proposal, process a journal order, or follow up on a masterclass registration. I process it on the basis of your consent, which you give when you tick the consent box on a form. I don't sell your information, and I don't use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

Form submissions are delivered to my email through FormSubmit, a third-party form service, and stored in my Gmail account, provided by Google. These services may process data on servers outside Kenya. By submitting a form, you consent to this transfer. I don't share your information with anyone else unless you agree to it, or the law requires it.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry information only as long as I need it to respond and follow up. If you become a client, your information becomes part of your confidential clinical record and is kept securely in line with professional record-keeping requirements.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

• be informed about how your data is used
• access the personal data I hold about you
• ask me to correct inaccurate data, or delete data I no longer need
• object to how your data is processed
• withdraw your consent at any time

Blog comments

If you comment on a blog post, I receive the name and comment you enter, and your email address if you choose to give it. Your email is never published. Comments are delivered to me through Netlify, which hosts this website and may process data outside Kenya. A comment appears on the site only after I've read it and chosen to publish it. To have a published comment removed, email me.
